WATERPROOF WORK BOOTS ARE NOT JUST FOR RAIN

It is more than likely that you will be caught in the rain somewhere during a normal workday. When you get caught in a downpour, you usually return home taking off your wet socks and spotting a pair of wrinkled legs. Waterproof work boots or waterproof Safety Jogger work boots are key to avoiding such a situation. Keep your feet dry, without losing comfort.

The typical working environment of work boots in contact with liquids is not limited to ordinary rain. Contact with dissolved water, snow, steam, water mixtures with acids, chemicals, oil, soaps, or body fluids may occur.

Work boots marked "waterproof" offer the highest level of protection against liquids. Waterproof work boots do what they say, keep water out, and are waterproof, keeping your feet dry in many environments.

Requirements for waterproof or resistant work shoes will depend on the application, for example, the degree of water resistance of a daily safety shoe will be different from that required for a military shoe, most of which is completely waterproof.

TESTING THE WATERPROOF PERFORMANCE

The waterproof level of the waterproof work boot was tested on a dynamic (flexible) water resistance machine.

The waterproof work boot is attached to a mechanical foot and placed in a container of colored water at a defined water depth (approximately 20 mm) above the feather line of the work boot. It is then bent at a constant speed and at an angle, while the (potential) penetration of water into the waterproof work boot is regularly checked.

The bending action is a simplified gait and is designed to simulate bending stresses in major areas known as weaknesses. The cyclic elevation of the toe creates realistic splashes of water on the unsinkable parts of the front.

In addition to examining the construction of the waterproof sock, the test can detect any wick that could cause water to leak water through the lining of the waterproof work boot. The EN20345 standard requires at least 4,800 bends for sealing purposes.

The main purpose of buying waterproof work shoes is to keep your feet dry and cool. Our waterproof work boots also provide breathability to prevent sweating when the work environment involves high temperatures, as well as firm insulation in snowy, wet, or rainy areas.

By designing waterproof work boots, it has improved the waterproof characteristics by using a waterproof membrane sock between the lining and the upper material.

There are various fabrics used to make a waterproof lining, but the way the fabrics are woven makes it waterproof and breathable.

In addition to preventing water from entering, the waterproof membrane offers climatic comfort for the feet, meaning a certain degree of breathability to prevent overheating or wetting of the feet by accumulated sweat.

At Safety Jogger, they don’t think only the waterproof membrane matters. For perfect comfort performance of the waterproof membrane of the work boot, we like to pay attention to other critical elements, which results in optimal control of the foot temperature in the waterproof work boot:

• the construction of the waterproof sock itself: perfectly sealed
• the assembly of the waterproof sock between the lining and upper: without excessive sealing adhesive nor wicking paths from design details such as decorations, foams, or other fabrics.
• the correct choice of upper material: breathable, non-wicking, and water-resistant.
