Semi-trailer stabilizer jacks are used to support the front of the trailer when it is not hitched to the truck. This is most commonly done when the truck is at the dock. It is quick and easy to secure the truck with a trailer stabilizer jack. Simply spin the top or crank the handle.
The trailer stabilizer jack prevents the trailer from upending during loading and unloading. It’s a very important piece of safety equipment to be used at any dock where trailers are dropped and loaded. Quite frankly the trailer levelling jack prevents accidents.

As noted in OSHA 1910.178 (k) (3): “Fixed jacks may be necessary to support a semi-trailer and prevent upending during the loading or unloading when the trailer is not coupled to a tractor.”
